The Flowers
The bride’s bouquet features a beautiful hand-tied design that exudes a natural, effortless elegance. The main color scheme is white, but the addition of burgundy and navy accents adds a touch of sophistication. This stunning arrangement includes ranunculus, Spanish dress red roses, cedar, salal tips, and Italian ruscus, which work together to create a truly unique and breathtaking look.
Meanwhile, the groomsmen’s boutonnieres are understated yet elegant, featuring a single ranunculus flower surrounded by dark green foliage. The absence of filler flowers allows the natural beauty of the main bloom to take center stage.

The Ceremony
As we exchanged personal vows, we also prepared a meaningful keepsake for our future selves. For our unity ceremony, we took the time to write heartfelt messages – sealing them along with a bottle of wine in a box that we’ll open together on our 5-year milestone anniversary. This intimate gesture symbolized the commitment and love we shared, leaving us with a cherished memento to treasure in years to come.
The Photography
When it came to selecting our photographers, we had an advantage – they’re some of our closest friends. Even if we didn’t have a prior connection, their aesthetic is so effortlessly elegant that it’s hard not to be drawn in. What really sets Amy and Jordan apart, though, is the way they go above and beyond to capture intimate moments through detailed shots. They take the time to truly get to know each of their couples, which results in photographs that feel genuine and authentic.
The Budget
One aspect that I deliberated on was renting furniture for the special day. The vintage burgundy chairs and Victorian-style sofa had a profound impact on me, making it a worthwhile splurge in hindsight. Having our bridal party pose on these unique pieces resulted in some truly breathtaking photos. Moreover, the guests at the wedding were seen snapping pictures and utilizing the couch as an impromptu social hub, which contributed to the overall cozy and intimate atmosphere of the venue.
The Decor & Details
The existing venue landscape played to our advantage, boasting stunning floral bushes and picturesque trees that significantly reduced the amount of décor required. To add a warm glow, we utilized oversized lanterns in abundance, while also incorporating bunches of evergreen from the groom’s parents’ yard to adorn the ceremony chairs with elegant ivory ribbon.
For the reception, we divided the tables into two distinct styles: half featured lanterns paired with small bouquets, while the other half showcased a curated selection of brass candlesticks – a mix of family heirlooms and unique finds from local thrift shops. To add a touch of whimsy, evergreen was artfully arranged in the center of each table. For the pièce de résistance, we crafted a lush garden ambiance at the sweetheart table by adding menus to the tables and a moss-covered seating chart.
The Refreshments
The celebratory drinks of choice for the newlyweds were just as unique as their love story. The groom opted for a Maple Leaf cocktail, blending bourbon with maple syrup and lemon juice, while the bride sipped on a refreshing blueberry lemonade infused with vodka. When it came to the main event, a delicious buffet-style meal was served, offering guests a variety of flavors to indulge in.
And no wedding is complete without dessert – in this case, a one-of-a-kind cake that cleverly combined half red velvet and half snickerdoodle for a sweet treat that perfectly captured the couple’s playful and romantic spirit.
The Honeymoon
Just days after our big day, we embarked on a mini-moon to Sedona, Arizona, a place that holds a special spot in our hearts. We knew it was essential to take some time for ourselves to unwind and process the whirlwind of emotions following our wedding. The thought of our official honeymoon in Europe this fall is already getting us excited. By the way, have you had a chance to read Melissa & Braedon’s romantic proposal story? It’s a real treat.
We also loved how they incorporated seasonal elements into their winter wedding without it feeling too forced. A huge thank you goes out to Amy & Jordan Photography for capturing their special day, and of course, to Melissa & Braedon for sharing it with us. If you’re looking for more inspiration from beautiful real weddings, we’ve got plenty to share.
