The Photography
When it came time to find the perfect team to capture our special day, we didn’t hesitate in reaching out to Ronnie and Rosemary once more. They had already impressed us with their exceptional work at our engagement party, so we were eager to have them on board again. Meanwhile, our videographer had previously worked his magic for a friend’s wedding, producing an incredible final product that left us wanting more.
The Music
As our special day unfolded, we curated a unique soundtrack to match its lively atmosphere. To set the tone, classical piano and violin melodies filled the air as guests entered and mingled, accompanied by the sweet sounds of our walk down the aisle. The Orangery, our breakfast and lunch venue, became the stage for an unforgettable Persian wedding party.
We walked in to a contagious beat by Sandy, as our Middle Eastern loved ones and friends took over the dance floor ahead of us, followed by our own joyful entrance. Our first dance after dinner was a laid-back affair, with ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy’ by Bobby McFerrin serving as the perfect accompaniment to our carefree, playful moves. We had decided on the song just the night before the wedding, adding an extra layer of spontaneity to the moment.
As the evening progressed, we kept the energy high with a diverse playlist featuring current hits, Arabic and Persian music. Before long, everyone was up and dancing, embracing the joy and celebration that filled the air.
The Decor & Details
Our ceremony took place in a stunning glass conservatory, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding garden. To maintain an understated elegance, we opted for a minimalist decor approach. A pair of white flower bouquets sat atop the room, while small baby’s breath arrangements adorned every third row of chairs, creating a harmonious visual flow along the aisle.
For our tables, we eschewed traditional numbering in favor of a nostalgic touch – each table featured a photograph of Farris and me from a specific year, spanning from 1990 to 2 cvte 2013, when we first met. As guests wandered through the room, they were treated to intimate glimpses of our life journey. To commemorate the occasion, we provided each attendee with a handmade mint flower lollipop, complete with a personalized name label.
The sweet treats served as a lovely memento of our special day. As we bid farewell, our exit was accompanied by the twinkling lights of sparklers distributed among our loved ones, creating a magical atmosphere that further solidified the memories of our joyous celebration.
Favourite Moments
It was a truly unforgettable experience. The wedding had a perfect blend of elegance and casualness, thanks to its outdoor setting. Our speeches reflected this relaxed atmosphere, with Farris’s brother taking the stage and us sharing our gratitude for having loved ones from all over the world, including Japan, Australia, America, South Africa, Switzerland, and Kuwait in attendance. It was incredible to see everyone filled with love and smiles, making it a truly special day.
We also had an amazing time dancing and enjoying the music. But one moment that stood out was when we took a moment to celebrate my grandparents’ 60th wedding anniversary. My brother-in-law asked all married couples to stand up, and then called out decades in increasing numbers. When he reached ’60 years,’ my grandparents were the only couple left standing, earning them a well-deserved round of applause.
Farris and I presented them with a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a symbol of our appreciation for their love and dedication.
