Stunning Outdoor Wedding With Luxurious Scrap-Inspired Decor

Stunning Outdoor Wedding With Luxurious Scrap-Inspired Decor

We’re thrilled to share this extraordinary real wedding on our blog today: Brittany and Tyler’s big day was a masterclass in elegance, luxury, and personalized flair. The California couple has known each other since childhood, so their wedding celebration was not just about their marriage but also the union of their two families – as you can imagine, it was an unforgettable party.

The Malibu wedding took place at Saddlerock Ranch, a picturesque venue that provided the perfect backdrop for the festivities. Studio EMP’s stunning photography and Katie Webb of Intertwined Events’ meticulous planning and styling ensured every detail was meticulously executed. The decor drew inspiration from the couple’s shared family history in scrap metal, incorporating copper, steel, and rose gold elements.

Salvaged timber throughout the outdoor venue was transformed with white florals and foliage garlands, luxurious lounge seating areas, mismatched furniture, and a mix of metallic accents. The ceremony setup alone is worth waiting for – with 22 members in the bridal party, dressed to impress in elegant rose gold and grey, a guest list of 300, and a family history that spans generations, this wedding was always going to be epic.

What I love most about this celebration is how Brittany and Tyler worked with their planner Katie to create an event that was truly personalized, bespoited, and unforgettable, even amidst the opulence and revelry. That’s no easy feat.

The Ceremony

The Ceremony

Our wedding ceremony was carefully curated to reflect our unique personalities and relationship as we’re not deeply rooted in traditional religious practices, so we sought a more laid-back atmosphere that still acknowledged the profound importance of our union as a married couple. A dear friend kindly offered to officiate the ceremony, bringing his own brand of humor and warmth to the proceedings.

He expertly wove together stories about us, our relationship, and our future together, leaving both Tyler and me feeling deeply moved and grateful. In addition to the heartfelt exchange of vows, Tyler surprised me with a beautiful poem, further solidifying the memory of this special day in my mind.

The musical selection for our storybook couple’s special day included a few timeless tunes that perfectly captured their love and joy. For the processional, they chose ‘Marry Me’ by Train, setting the tone for an intimate and romantic ceremony. As they exchanged their vows, the recessional song ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by The Beatles played in the background, symbolizing the bright future ahead of them.

Later that evening, during the first dance, Keith Urban’s ‘Memories of Us’ brought a sense of nostalgia and closeness to the couple as they swayed together under the stars.

We were fortunate to work with a talented photographer and videographer team, recommended by our planner Joel, our photographer, had an easy-going demeanor that immediately put us at ease. His ability to capture the little moments and details was impressive, and we loved how he documented our special day. What’s more, he gave us complete access to all of our photos without any restrictions or additional costs.

Our engagement session and wedding day shoots were a blast, thanks to Joel’s friendly approach. As for our videographers, we didn’t get to meet them before the big day, but we trusted our planner’s recommendations implicitly. We had seen some of their work in the form of ‘trailers’ from other weddings, which left us emotionally moved and even brought tears to our eyes given how impactful those trailers were, we knew that our own wedding film would be truly special.

And indeed it was – the team did an excellent job of weaving everything together, perfectly capturing our love story, wedding day, and the overwhelming emotions that filled the air.

Our wedding theme and décor were carefully curated to reflect our unique personalities and shared interests. The scrap metal recycling industry plays a significant role in our lives, so we incorporated mixed-metal decorations throughout the celebration. This included copper table numbers handmade by a family friend, copper-covered tables, and chairs with varying metals, as well as metallic tablecloths that sparkled in the light.

We also blended rustic and masculine elements with cow hide rugs, hay bales serving as seats at the ceremony site, and a designated cigar lounge area. To balance these earthy tones, we added feminine touches like chandeliers and delicate details that shone bright. Every aspect of our décor was carefully chosen to represent us as individuals and as a couple.

As the newly-minted Mr. and Mrs. Adams, we were met with a whirlwind of celebration upon our grand entrance at the reception. The DJ’s request for everyone to join us on the dance floor was met with an enthusiastic response, as 300+ guests eagerly participated. Amidst the revelry, I recall feeling utterly surrounded by joy and love – it was almost surreal. The dance floor, while spacious, seemed to shrink under the weight of so many happy faces.

A more intimate moment that has stayed with me is when my husband and I took a step back from the festivities to absorb the atmosphere. After dinner, we excused ourselves from our table and strolled away from the party, pausing for a few minutes to take in the sights and sounds. Every table, every twinkling light, and every smiling face seemed to radiate warmth and happiness. It was breathtakingly beautiful, and I’m grateful that we took that brief moment to savor it together.

The Honeymoon

The Honeymoon

As newlyweds, we yearned for a dreamy honeymoon that would surpass all our travel experiences combined. We craved an adventure that would not only bring us closer but also pay homage to the enchanting island of Tahiti where our romance blossomed. The quest for overwater bungalows was a must-have element in this romantic getaway. My trusted planner introduced me to Ever After Honeymoons, a bespoke travel agency specializing in crafting one-of-a-kind honeymoons.

Katie’s expertise helped us curate an unforgettable journey across Dubai, Oman, and the breathtaking Maldives. Her services took the stress out of planning, allowing us to bask in the joy of our new life together. In hindsight, taking a honeymoon trip was a masterstroke – it prolonged the celebratory high and turned our wedding into a seamless transition. The experience felt like a whimsical dream that I wouldn’t have wanted to awaken from.

Even for those who can’t or don’t want to venture far, a mini getaway at a bed and breakfast or small resort can be a wonderful way to prolong the bliss. Ultimately, it’s about savoring the magic of your newlywed life.
