As the weekend begins, I’m thrilled to share that Zee and I will be embarking on a trip from the charming Old Montreal in Canada to the sunny city of Miami. The excitement is palpable, and what better way to kick off this adventure than by celebrating love with an actual wedding? No screens required, just pure romance today’s inspiration comes from a stunning Texas wedding captured by Christa Elyce Photography, and I’m absolutely smitten.

Taylor and Ryan’s special day was steeped in Southern charm, with a color palette as soft as the morning sunrise. Repurposed doors, rustic lanterns, whimsical florals, and vintage skeleton key details all combined to create an atmosphere of effortless elegance. The bridesmaids’ seafoam dresses and groomsmen’s ties perfectly complemented Taylor’s breathtaking green-blue eyes, and can we talk about her fitted, fishtail lace wedding dress by Enzoani? It’s a true showstopper.

But the real highlight for me is the story behind Ryan’s granny’s thoughtful gift before she passed away. Prepare to be warmed by the sweetness of it all.

Inspiration struck as soon as we locked eyes on our dream venue. The elegant setting effortlessly influenced our design direction, guiding us toward a harmonious blend of warm and calming hues. Blush tones brought a touch of romance, while Seafoam added an air of serenity and Ivory provided a crisp, clean contrast. Delicate lace accents further refined the aesthetic, imbuing our overall look with an effortless charm reminiscent of Southern Country Chic.

A lush medley of flowers played a starring role in the arrangement, featuring peonies, roses, and dusty miller alongside scabiosa pods and other botanical beauties.

My wedding attire was a stunning combination of elegance and personal touch. For the special occasion, I opted for an ivory gown designed by Enzoani (Fifi), which perfectly complemented the subtle yet sophisticated hues worn by my bridal party. JCrew’s ‘dusty shale’ dresses were chosen to bring out each bridesmaid’s unique style, giving them the freedom to select a design that resonated with their individuality.

In a poignant display of love and respect, Ryan’s grandmother had knitted handkerchiefs for all the significant women who would be part of his future wife’s life – her bride-to-be, her mothers, and grandmothers. After her passing, Ryan carried on this sentimental tradition by presenting handkerchiefs to each of these special ladies at the wedding, serving as a meaningful reminder of his grandmother’s love and legacy.

In its purest form, love is characterized by a unique set of qualities that distinguish it from other emotions and actions. Love is not just a fleeting feeling, but a profound and enduring state of being that transcends petty human imperfections like envy, boastfulness, arrogance, and rudeness. It’s not about dominating or imposing one’s will on others; instead, love is willing to listen, compromise, and find common ground.

Love doesn’t let negative emotions like irritability and resentment get the better of it, nor does it take pleasure in someone else’s misfortran.

Our beverage selection included beer, wine, mixed drinks, tea, water, and soda. To kick off the evening, we offered shrimp diablo shooters and chicken wellingtons during cocktail hour. For the sit-down dinner, our menu featured pistachio crusted tilapia and filet mignon, both expertly paired with new potatoes and a colorful vegetable medley.

In a nod to the bride’s German heritage, we opted for a traditional Bavarian cheesecake as our wedding cake, while individual servings of creamy Blue Bell vanilla ice cream, accompanied by wooden spoons, took the place of a groom’s cake.

As newlyweds, the bride and groom shared a moment of pure joy with ‘We Got Us.’ Meanwhile, a father-daughter duo exchanged tender sentiments with ‘Butterfly Kisses,’ while a mother-son pair cherished memories with ‘My Wish.’ Each celebrating their unique bond.
