This idyllic pink wedding celebration is characterized by heartfelt, family-oriented moments and charming DIY elements. Abundant burlap, baby’s breath, and a lovingly crafted ceremony arch created by the bride’s father add to the rustic charm. The pièce de résistance is a stunning rose-topped, monogrammed cake, accompanied by whimsical wooden ‘here come the bride’ signs. But wait until you see Ginny and David’s ring bearers donning bow ties and their flower girls – it’s an overload of cuteness.
Ginny wore her hair in a simple yet elegant side braid adorned with delicate clusters of baby’s breath, evoking the timeless beauty of fresh flowers. As she prepared to slip into her exquisite lace gown, Ginny’s mother helped her with tears in her eyes – a poignant moment that is sure to touch hearts. Live View Studios expertly captured every tender moment and delightful detail of their special day.
From The Bride…
Our wedding was a vibrant expression of love and joy, with a unique blend of rustic and eclectic elements woven throughout. The color scheme featured soft pinks and gentle greys, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly captured the lively, family-oriented nature of our special day.
The Ceremony
As we began our special day, we took a moment to reflect on Philippians 2:1-12, which served as our family Bible verse. To create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, we made sure that our ceremony felt like a celebration from start to finish. The mood was lightened by the many laughs shared among our guests, and we wanted to continue this sense of joy into the night.
With that in mind, instead of making a traditional procession down the aisle after being announced as husband and wife, we decided to add our own personal touch – we danced our way down the aisle, with our bridesmaids and groomsmen joining in on the fun. This playful start set the tone for an unforgettable evening that was filled with laughter, love, and celebration.
The Photography
Live View Studios truly impress with their mastery of lighting and composition, skillfully freezing moments in time. Meeting Brent and Anna was a serendipitous encounter that blossomed into a lasting friendship. Their kindness and warmth have earned our admiration and gratitude, making us feel fortunate to have them as regular acquaintances.
Décor & Details
The rustic charm of our table centrepieces was created using an array of natural elements, including burlap, baby’s breath, and wooden boards. The combination of mason jars, candles, and greenery added a warm, intimate ambiance to the setting. This DIY endeavor was a collaborative effort between my mother, bridesmaids, and our wedding planner, Liz. The finishing touch came in the form of pink lace bags filled with covered almonds, which each guest received as a thoughtful gesture.
To pay homage to our special moments, we repurposed old window frames to display cherished photographs, weaving a sense of nostalgia into the overall aesthetic.
The Music
The soundtrack for our special day was carefully curated to reflect our unique personalities and shared experiences. Jeannie Albers’ rendition of ‘Colour My World’ from Chicago set the tone for the processional, a poignant moment that brought back memories of my parents’ first dance – a song that held a special significance for them too. The recessional featured Colbie Caillat’s upbeat ‘I Do’, which perfectly captured our joy and excitement as we began our new life together.
Our first dance, to another Colbie Caillat hit, ‘Brighter Than the Sun’, was a romantic highlight of the evening that left us feeling like we were walking on air.
Favourite Moments
What we aimed for was an atmosphere where people could let their guard down, relax, and enjoy themselves – and that’s exactly what happened. The dance floor became a sea of movement as everyone let loose and had a blast. It was a truly carefree celebration, filled with the sounds of laughter, music, and joyful chatter. As people mingled and danced together, it was clear that our event had brought two cultures together in a beautiful display of unity and togetherness.
Advice For Other Couples
When planning your wedding, consider taking on DIY projects to make your special day even more memorable. Not only will these tasks allow you to spend quality time with loved ones, creating lasting memories, but they can also help you save a significant amount of money. I’ll never forget the countless hours my mom and I spent together, carefully crafting decorations like wrapped mason jars and hand-painted sticks.
These small gestures not only added a personal touch to our celebration, but also allowed us to start our new life together on solid financial footing.
