The enchanting wedding of Grant and Meaghan at Honsberger Estates in Ontario was a masterful blend of sophistication and laid-back charm. The Vancouver-based couple’s love for the ocean was beautifully reflected in their colour palette of calming blues and greens, which infused every aspect of their special day. To add a touch of whimsy, they incorporated a sushi station and a surf van oyster truck – a delightful surprise for their guests.
Grant’s effortless groom style stole the show, and his thoughtful gift to his groomsmen – Navy Vans to be worn with rolled-up trousers sans socks – was the perfect reflection of his easy-going nature. Meaghan, on the other hand, shone in her timeless silk wedding gown featuring a stunning low-back design, paired with sleek blue sandals and a vibrant blue bouquet of Hydrangeas. Her intricate updo hairstyle was truly breathtaking.
What stands out most about Grant and Meaghan’s wedding is the palpable sense of joy and laughter that filled the air, beautifully captured by Andrew Mark Photography.
The Attire
Bridesmaids were given the freedom to choose their own dresses, as long as they were a variation of blue. This allowed each woman’s personal style to shine through, resulting in a unique and eclectic mix of outfits that perfectly captured the laid-back vibe of the wedding. Meanwhile, the groomsmen opted for a stylish yet relaxed look, donning rolled pants and shirts with coordinating vests and ties courtesy of Gary Waters.
The Ceremony
As a nod to the groom’s love for reggae music, the ceremony featured a poignant reading from the iconic Jamaican musician Bob Marley. The gentle rhythms and uplifting lyrics of his words added a unique cultural flair to the celebration, reflecting the groom’s personal style and passions.
The Refreshments
Upon arrival, guests were greeted with the refreshing aroma of sangria, setting the tone for an evening of culinary delights. The selection of wines, including Westcott Ridge, Chardonnay, Foreign Affair, Riesling, Megalomaniac, Pompous & Bravado Calamus, all expertly paired with champagne, hinted at the sophisticated gastronomic experience that lay ahead. The evening’s menu featured four delectable food stations, each showcasing gourmet cuisine artfully presented on a plate.
As guests indulged in their chosen dishes, knowledgeable staff members were on hand to provide detailed explanations of the culinary masterpieces before them. This innovative approach added a relaxed and convivial atmosphere to the dinner, allowing for effortless mingling and conversation as they savored each bite.
The Music
The special moments at any wedding ceremony are often the ones that leave a lasting impression on guests. For instance, the choice of processional and recessional songs can set the tone for the entire event. In this case, Jack Johnson’s soothing melody was the perfect accompaniment to the happy couple’s grand entrance. Meanwhile, Donavon Frankenreiter’s music added a touch of elegance to the farewell ceremony.
But it’s not just these traditional songs that create unforgettable memories – the first dance between the newlyweds is often a highlight of the evening. In this case, Adam Sandler’s rendition of ‘Grow Old With You’ served as the soundtrack for their romantic moment under the stars.
Favourite Moments
We were thrilled by several unforgettable highlights. Among them, our initial glimpse of the venue’s revamped interior, including the beautifully set tables in the refurbished barn, left us beaming with excitement. Additionally, sharing a plate of oysters at the oyster bar and taking a ride on the surf bus added to the merriment. Perhaps most notably, the ceremony was filled with joyous laughter, creating an atmosphere that we’ll always treasure.
