I’m thrilled to share Kimberlee and Chris’ enchanting destination wedding in Malaysia with you. The experience was made all the more magical by its romantic atmosphere, characterized by a lush palette of roses, tealights, and soft hues of nude and blush pink. Who wouldn’t be captivated by the effortlessly glamorous bride, resplendent in her ruffled Vera Wang mermaid wedding dress, paired perfectly with the groom’s dashing powder blue suit?
The talented Ruby Yeo was behind the lens, capturing every intimate moment. But what truly stole my heart were the whimsical details – think Lego cake toppers, his and hers parasols, and adorable key and padlock escort cards/favours – a charming touch that added an extra layer of romance to this already dreamy celebration.
Décor & Details
The ambiance was truly breathtaking, with the venue’s natural beauty augmented by an array of dusty pink roses adorning each table, accompanied by a soft, warm glow emanating from candles, tea lights, and lanterns scattered throughout. As guests arrived, they were greeted with a delightful surprise: personalized luggage tags and keys that led them to their seats. Upon arriving at the designated spot, each guest discovered a small box tied with ribbon, awaiting its secrets.
The sweet treats inside – including wedding-themed boiled sweets and customized Love Hearts – added an extra layer of whimsy to the evening’s festivities.
The Flowers
In my quest for the perfect ivory rose, I was determined to have a specific shade that ultimately required shipping from the mainland as Langkawi’s limited selection couldn’t meet my expectations. On the day of the event, all the roses on display were various hues of blush, pink, and ivory, which surprisingly harmonized to create a serene and romantic atmosphere that perfectly complemented the occasion.
The Refreshments
For the celebration, we opted for an open bar and a unique culinary experience that complemented the lively atmosphere. A sumptuous buffet featuring tender steaks, succulent seafood, and juicy chicken was set up, allowing our guests to indulge in freshly prepared dishes throughout the evening.
The First Dance
For Chris’ first dance with Kimberlee, he selected ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, a song that held immense sentimental value for their relationship and Kimberlee’s family. This rendition was specifically chosen due to its harmonious alignment with the beach theme, which served as the backdrop for their special moment.
Favourite Moments
As Chris took his first glance at Kimberlee walking down the aisle, he felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the moment. Meanwhile, for Kimberlee, it was a joyous experience having their closest loved ones in attendance, witnessing the depth of their love and commitment to one another.
Advice for other Couples
When seeking inspiration, I highly recommend visiting sites like wed and Weddzilla, which provided me with valuable insights. Similarly, Chris found I Am Staggered to be a reliable source of information from a male perspective. Additionally, we discovered Chillisaucecouk to be an excellent resource for planning hen parties, which helped us organize two successful events for both the bride-to-be and groom-to-be.
It’s been a pleasure sharing our special day with you, Kimberlee and Chris, and we wish you all the best as you begin your married life together.
