Bre and Kendall are two individuals who exude warmth, sincerity, and charm. Their love story is a testament to the power of genuine connections, and I feel privileged to have witnessed it unfold. As their wedding photographer, I was honored to capture the essence of their special day, which was marked by an atmosphere of joy, elegance, and playfulness.
Guest Dress Code
In lieu of a traditional wedding party, we opted for an understated approach that allowed our guests to take center stage. To set the tone, we included a custom color palette on our invitations, encouraging our loved ones to incorporate these hues into their attire. The result was a visually stunning celebration, as our friends and family beautifully interpreted the palette in their unique ways. This thoughtful touch not only made for memorable photos but also added an extra layer of personalization to the overall experience.
Pre Ceremony Fun
To kick off the celebration, we hosted a pre-ceremony cocktail hour that doubled as an icebreaker. We created customized bingo cards featuring unique and quirky facts about each guest, such as ‘has a cat on Prozac’ or ‘went to high school with Justin Bieber’s mom.’ As guests arrived, they received their personalized card and attempted to find common interests with others by matching their fun facts. This game not only generated lively conversations but also fostered an intimate atmosphere that perfectly set the tone for our dinner party. Additionally, we had a vintage typewriter on hand for guests to write down their heartfelt wishes and hopes for us, which would later be shared as part of our ceremony. The sentimental gesture added a touching layer of sincerity to the celebration.
The Ceremony
The atmosphere at our ceremony was incredibly intimate and relaxed. Without formalities or awkward pauses, we began by opening with a prayer from a close friend. This set the tone for an evening of heartfelt sharing as we passed around a larger hoop for guests to attach their wish cards. Many took this opportunity to express themselves, laying the groundwork for us to stand up and recite our vows, which we had written specifically for each other. Our vows were sealed with a romantic kiss, followed by an acoustic performance of our song, ‘The Story’, accompanied by a champagne toast to conclude the ceremony. This special moment was made even more memorable by the incredible talent of our friend Melody Klemin, who performed Brandi Carlile’s ‘The Story’ in a beautiful and personal rendition that left us both deeply moved. It was an unforgettable way to cap off our ceremony, and we felt truly blessed to have her there. As the evening unfolded, we savored every moment with loved ones, basking in the joy of being surrounded by those who mattered most to us.
