supplies you’ll need to make this diy wreath
For this DIY project, you’ll need some basic materials. Start by gathering a Dollar Tree mop head, which will serve as the foundation for your decorative piece. You’ll also require a wire wreath form from the same store – I opted for the 12-inch size. If you want to add an extra touch of elegance, consider using tulle bows, which do require some additional tulle fabric. Additionally, feel free to get creative with bling elements if you desire.
how to make a diy wreath step by step
To remove the mop strings from the plastic cap, use wire nippers to carefully snip them free. Next, create a starter knot on the inside of the hoop, anywhere along the wire form. Then, begin wrapping the mop string around the wreath form, working your way around until the entire surface is fully covered. Note that leaving a small amount of slack can add visual interest, but ultimately the level of tension you apply will depend on the desired aesthetic.
Once the strings are in place, secure the end with a knot and tuck it under the other strands for a clean finish.

I’m thrilled with how this turned out – the finished product has an undeniable ‘farmhouse’ charm. The neutral color palette ensures it’ll blend seamlessly into various décors, making it a versatile showstopper that will effortlessly transition from winter to spring without missing a beat.
ways to display your diy wreath
While this DIY wreath may be durable enough to withstand various environments, its true value lies in being showcased indoors. Its rustic charm would make it an ideal addition to any door, potentially accompanied by a charming sign at its center. Consider hanging it within a frame on your gallery wall for a unique and eye-catching display. Alternatively, you could place it alongside complementary decor on your mantle, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Moreover, this wreath’s versatility would make it an excellent choice for wedding decorations – imagine adorning the chairs with these beautiful creations. For a more dramatic effect, arrange three of these wreaths in a row, suspended from ribbons to create instant art that will be the focal point of any room.
