As the long weekend came to a close, we’re thrilled to share an enchanting destination wedding that will leave you beaming with joy. Meet Jade and Mitch, a travel-loving Aussie couple who knew their special day would be best celebrated in a picturesque setting that combined heat, ocean views, and romance – Bali’s stunning beaches fit the bill perfectly. The newlyweds’ elegant garden celebration featured lush greenery, white blooms, thoughtful DIY elements, and an ethereal overhead lighting installation that added to the magic. Jade shone in her custom-made gown, Mitch looked dashing in his bright blue suit, and the bridesmaids brought ocean-side glamour with their rose gold crop top dresses. But what truly stole our hearts was this radiant couple’s infectious enthusiasm – they smiled from dawn till dusk, and we can’t get enough of it! We’re also huge fans of Terralogical Photography for capturing the candid moments, romantic exchanges, and joyful laughter that filled their special day. You’re going to adore this wedding just as much as we do!
Wedding Day Snapshot
Our Wedding
As we began planning our special day, Mitch and I sat down to discuss the most important aspects of our wedding. For me, it was a must-have tropical warmth, while for him, the ocean view took top priority. Given our shared love of travel, choosing an overseas location felt like a natural fit. Bali emerged as the perfect choice, allowing us to walk hand-in-hand along the beach at sunset, surrounded by loved ones and the calming sounds of the waves. I made it my mission to infuse our personalities into every detail of the celebration, from the invites to the favors. This effort had Mitch practically buzzing with excitement, his enthusiasm infectious as we brought our vision to life.
Our natural décor was a reflection of our love for simplicity and elegance. We opted for lush greenery and white flowers, paired with rustic wooden tables and gold Tiffany chairs that added a touch of sophistication. The industrial lights overhead created a warm ambiance, bathing the entire scene in a soft, golden glow.
In the end, our wedding was a stunning display of beauty, requiring little embellishment to impress. It was as if the natural setting had worked its magic, making every moment feel like a dream come true.
Advice for Other Couples
When you’ve found something that truly resonates with you, take action and make it happen. Cross it off your list and watch time fly by – it’s astonishing how quickly things can fall into place when you’re passionate about them. This approach applies to budgeting as well; taking the time to find the most cost-effective option will ultimately save you stress and resources in the long run.Don’t forget to incorporate personal touches that speak to your partner’s interests or passions, too. I discovered that by subtly incorporating my husband’s favorite color, blue, into our décor – through artwork or accents – it brought him immense joy on our special day. By doing so, you’ll create a unique and memorable experience that reflects both of your personalities.
The Decor & Details
As I crafted my name cards, Well_Lettered brought each individual’s name to life on large white feathers, finishing them off with a touch of gold paint. A delicate pheasant feather adorned the base of each card, making it a special memento for guests to take home. Similarly, our wedding favors took the form of elegant white leather luggage tags emblazoned with the thoughtful message ‘Not all roads are meant to be traveled alone’ in golden script. Each tag featured a custom disc attached with blue twine, bearing a heartfelt thank you note. The gesture felt particularly meaningful given the distance many guests had traveled to join us in Bali. I also designed our menus, which Shhh my Darling beautifully brought to life with her brushstrokes. She had already lent her artistic talents to creating our matching invitations, which featured an stunning mural of all the countries our loved ones were traveling from around the world to celebrate our special day. As I prepared to say ‘I do’, my mother-in-law gifted me a breathtaking garter, which I wore with pride as I married her son. The pièce de résistance was my bridal table, which surpassed even my wildest expectations. A lush hydrangea runner flowed seamlessly from floor to floor on either side, creating a truly enchanting atmosphere. Meanwhile, a talented friend crafted a stunning carved surfboard for our guests to sign, adorned with the playful phrase ‘Just Married’ on one side.
The Music
As we curated our wedding playlist, personal moments took center stage. We carefully selected songs that held significance to us, weaving them into key moments throughout the day.Our choice of tracks played a crucial role in setting the tone for each moment:Mitch’s walk down the aisle was accompanied by ‘Love Me Like You Do’ by Boyce Avenue, a nod to our shared love story. As I walked down the aisle, James Vincent McMorrow’s ‘Higher Love’ filled the air, transporting us back to those special moments. The First Time by Michael Castro set the tone for our post-ceremony celebration.Introducing Mr. and Mrs. was marked with American Authors’ ‘Best Day of My Life’, a song that held extra meaning since Mitch sang it to me on the day he proposed. As the evening unfolded, we kept the energy high with The Weeknd’s ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ during the garter toss. The bouquet toss featured Avicii ft. Audra Mae’s ‘Feeling Good’, leaving us beaming with joy.Our father-daughter dance was a heartfelt affair, with Landon Austin’s ‘Best Part of Me’ serving as a beautiful tribute. For our first dance, we opted for an acoustic rendition of Calvin Harris’s ‘Feel So Close’, sung by my younger sister – a special touch that made the moment all the more meaningful. The cake cutting ceremony was marked with Avicii’s ‘The Days’, a poignant choice since we released glow balloons during this song, making it a truly unforgettable experience.Throughout the night, our DJ kept the party going, effortlessly transitioning between genres to keep our 83-year-old grandma – and everyone else – dancing until the very end.
The Refreshments
After the big day, we can confidently say that Bali Catering Company’s reputation as a top-notch wedding caterer is well-deserved. Our experience was nothing short of exceptional, thanks in large part to their impressive culinary offerings. For our menu, we opted for a selection that showcased the company’s creativity and expertise.
The starters set the tone for an unforgettable meal, with the Balinese Spiced Roasted Fish in Banana Leaf and Oriental Flavored Duck Confit Cannelloni, Butternut Pumpkin Puree, Goat Cheese Espuma and Chives Oil both impressing our guests. The flavors were bold yet harmonious, setting the stage for a truly memorable dining experience.
The main course was just as impressive, with the Beef Tenderloin, Asian Mushroom and Nori Dusted Potato Croquette, Bordelaise Sauce and Roasted Chicken Ballotine with Spinach, Mushroom, Saffron and Sage Jus all receiving rave reviews from our guests. Each dish was meticulously prepared to ensure that every bite was a delight.
Dessert was the perfect ending to an already exceptional meal, with the Lemon Meringue Tart with Raspberry Coulis providing a sweet and tangy conclusion to the culinary journey.
But it wasn’t just the food that made our wedding reception truly unforgettable. Our wedding cake, crafted by Ixora Cakes, was a stunning masterpiece that perfectly captured my vision. The flavors of white chocolate mud and raspberry were sublime, making for a truly indulgent treat.
To top it all off, we had an open bar with free flowing drinks available for our guests throughout the seven-hour celebration.
Favourite Moments
As the speeches unfolded, my bridesmaids stunned me by standing up to share heartfelt stories of our friendship. The evening was capped off with a beautiful rendition of ‘All of Me’ by John Legend, sung by my sister – it’s safe to say there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd. As for the lanterns I had initially envisioned, they weren’t feasible due to fire safety concerns and nearby rooftops. Instead, I conceived an alternative: glow balloons. I purchased large, 30cm diameter white balloons and tiny LED lights that could be inserted before inflation. The result was breathtaking – each couple received their own balloon, which debuted during the cake cutting ceremony.
The Honeymoon
We kicked off our post-wedding celebration by spending a week in Bali with loved ones, savoring the joy of our special day. This extended honeymoon allowed us to relax and recharge amidst stunning tropical scenery.
Next, we embarked on an action-packed 15-day private tour in India with On the Go Tours. The vibrant energy of this bustling country provided a thrilling contrast to the tranquil atmosphere of Bali.
Our adventure culminated in seven days of blissful relaxation in the Maldives, where we reveled in each other’s company and indulged in tropical paradise. As avid travelers, this itinerary was tailor-made for us.
If you’re considering a destination wedding, I highly recommend following up with an adventure-filled getaway. A relaxing retreat straight after might have felt anticlimactic; instead, our journey built momentum, making the transition to relaxation seamless.
I’m still pinching myself over Jade’s breathtaking custom dress, handmade place cards, and thoughtful favors – what a remarkable celebration! And how envious am I of their incredible honeymoon escapades? – wow indeed!
Kudos to Terralogical Photography and the lovely couple for sharing their one-of-a-kind Bali destination wedding with us. Let this inspiration ignite your own wedding planning adventure!
