Our Love Story
It was during my time as a server at Applebee’s Restaurant that I first crossed paths with someone who would become significant in my life. As fate would have it, he was a cook on our team, working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure every dish that left our kitchen was nothing short of exceptional. One day, he approached me with a question about the location of our dishwashing area – a request made with utmost discretion, as if he didn’t want anyone else to know what he was up to.
His intentions were clear, however: after his shift ended, he would be calling me to see where things might go between us, and indeed, he did call, inviting me out for dessert and a movie that night – the start of a sweet and memorable evening that would set the stage for many more adventures to come.
The Attire

As fate would have it, this captivating colour was dubbed ‘Windsor Blue’, a nod to our hometown in Windsor, Ontario. The Ceremony
As I look back on the journey that brought us together, one moment stands out as particularly poignant: it was when I came across our vows online, and something about them resonated deeply. The words spoke directly to my soul, and I knew instinctively that they were meant for us. The promise to be each other’s ‘best friend, faithful partner, and one true love’ struck a chord within me. What I love most about these vows is the acknowledgment that life won’t always be easy.
But even in those difficult moments, we’ll face challenges side by side, supporting each other as we navigate the twists and turns of our adventure together.
The Venue
In seeking an unconventional setting, we opted for Ambassador Golf Course; its abundance of windows ensuring a dreamy and radiant atmosphere. The natural sunlight streaming through these expansive glass panels created a visually stunning backdrop for our celebration.
Furthermore, we desired to provide our guests with the flexibility to step outside onto the patio, where they could freely mingle, share laughter and conversation without the distraction of loud music, allowing for meaningful connections to unfold.
The Music
As we navigated the world of wedding playlists, two songs stood out as the perfect accompaniment to our special day: Keith Urban’s ‘Processional: Memories of Us’ had been our go-to anthem throughout our dating journey; whenever it played, we knew that this was our song – a constant reminder of our love story unfolding. In stark contrast, Sara Bareilles’ upbeat yet romantic ‘Recessional: I Choose You’ brought a refreshing touch to our ceremony.
We opted for a local singer, Joseph Anthony, to perform the tracks at our wedding, and his talent only added to the magic. The real clincher came when we stumbled upon John Legend’s newly released single, ‘All of Me’, while browsing online one night. The excitement was palpable as we gazed at each other, knowing that this song had become our new anthem. We shared our discovery with his parents, and – well, let’s just say it got emotional pretty quickly.
That sealed the deal for us; we booked tickets to see John Legend perform live, hoping to relive the magic of our first dance. The experience was nothing short of surreal Listening to him belt out our wedding song, we felt a deep connection, as if it was meant to be ‘All of Me’ has become an integral part of our love story, and we can’t imagine celebrating any milestone without it.
The Honeymoon
As I scoured the internet for top honeymoon destinations in 2014, a chance discovery led me to Positano. The charming town’s beauty immediately captivated me, and I couldn’t help but feel an instant connection with Tom being Italian and having never set foot in Italy before; this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
What drew us to Positano was the perfect blend of beachside relaxation, fresh local cuisine, cultural immersion, vibrant nightlife, and exciting activities – everything we could ask for in a dream honeymoon. The experience only got better with indulgent pasta feasts and late nights sipping limoncello, making it an absolute must-visit destination. Positano’s stunning architecture, complete with white and gold decor, left me breathless.
