Sarah and Adrian’s wedding was a masterclass in joy and inclusivity. The photographs, courtesy of Matt Bowen Photography, capture the couple’s warmth and happiness perfectly. Sarah beamed with delight as she exchanged vows in her stunning fitted strapless lace dress, cathedral-length veil, and radiant smile. Meanwhile, their meticulously planned English garden party was a true celebration of life.
Think bunting, croquet, table tennis, picnic hampers, flowers in wellies, Pimms, pink lemonade, and sweet jam favors – the list goes on. What truly sets this wedding apart, however, is the couple’s thoughtful inclusion of their friends and family throughout the day.
From The Bride…
The scene unfolded with my exquisite lace dress, its sweetheart neckline a perfect complement to the pearl and diamond belt I’d repurposed from another Juno-inspired gown. The pièce de résistance, however, was the full-length veil that added an air of whimsy and romance to the overall look. Meanwhile, my sister’s stunning royal blue Whistles dress stole the show with its floor-sweeping design, a deliberate choice aimed at creating a piece she could wear again on future special occasions.
The Flowers
The wedding florals featured a harmonious blend of textures and colors, with bouquets comprising blue hydrangea, luscious white peonies, cream-hued roses, and an assortment of herbs like barley and wheat. Green foliage added depth to the arrangements. Meanwhile, centrepieces in jam jars showcased blue hydrangea or gypsophila, finished with delicate blue ribbons that wrapped around the rims.
Strategically placed throughout the marquees were jugs and wellies overflowing with blue hydrangea and gypsophila. To further enhance the atmosphere, our table names were inspired by herbs like rosemary, thyme, mint, and basil, filling the air with a refreshing aroma.

The Wedding Music
As I walked down the aisle, Canon in D provided the perfect accompaniment to my special moment. The church service that followed featured three heartfelt hymns: Praise My Soul, I Vow to Thee My Country, and Jerusalem. These classic tunes added a sense of reverence to the occasion. Following dinner, we welcomed a band outside to create a laid-back atmosphere in the afternoon.
As the sun began to set, they moved inside and took their seats for our first dance, performing You Make My Dreams Come True by Hall & Oates. It was during this tender moment that I revealed our choreographed routine, which has since gained an unexpected life on YouTube. The band continued to play a diverse mix of old favorites and cheesy crowd-pleasers throughout the evening, ensuring everyone found themselves on the dance floor.
Advice For Other Couples
When planning your wedding, having a realistic budget in place can make all the difference. We didn’t utilize a budgeting app, but I think they’re excellent tools for staying on track instead, we relied on Pinterest to gather ideas and created a schedule to ensure that nothing was forgotten. This approach helped us stay organized and focused on the actual day of your wedding; it’s essential to take a step back and appreciate just how special this occasion is.
With everyone you love gathered in one place, there will never be another chance like it. Make time to soak up every moment and cherish the experience as I say, congratulations to Sarah and Adrian – may their special day be filled with joy and happiness.
