From The Couple
We’re still marveling at how seamlessly everything came together. Our whirlwind romance culminated in an engagement on November 27th, 2012, followed by a wedding just nine months later on August 2nd, 2013. Despite the rushed timeline, we took our time in selecting the perfect vendors for our special day. With over half of our guests traveling from London, England, we sought out a venue that would accommodate them comfortably – and found it at the Lace Factory.
We envisioned a classic, understated celebration with just a touch of extra flair to enhance the atmosphere.
The Inspiration & Colour Palette
The wedding venue’s aesthetic was characterized by a striking balance of monochromatic tones, subtly punctuated by whispers of color drawn from the bride’s stunning bouquet. The wooden structure provided a natural, rustic backdrop, while accents of hue added warmth and depth to the overall atmosphere.
Favourite Moments
As the sun shone brightly on our special day, the sound of an acoustic guitar wafted through the air, mingling with the gentle hum of a passing steam train – a serendipitous moment that only added to the romance and magic of our wedding celebration. The highlight of the ceremony was the heartfelt Best Man speech, which featured captivating video footage and cherished memories of the groom’s life, leaving everyone in awe.
With the warmth of the day mirroring the joy in our hearts, we were surrounded by love as we united our British and American families under one roof.
The Refreshments
Our culinary experience was elevated with a formal sit-down meal, lovingly crafted by Cloud Nine. Pairing it with an exquisite wedding cake, we kept our guests satisfied during cocktail hour by offering passed hors d’oeuvres and a thoughtfully curated stationary table featuring an array of tantalizing treats. The food was truly exceptional, and the pièce de résistance was the beautifully presented mini-cupcakes that accompanied the majestic wedding cake, delighting our guests with every bite.
The Music
As the ceremony unfolded, a serene atmosphere was set in motion by an acoustic guitarist strumming the iconic ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by The Beatles. This intimate setting provided the perfect backdrop for the newlyweds’ first dance, as they swayed to the emotive beats of ‘One Day Like This’ by Elbow. Meanwhile, the Mother and Groom shared a special moment with ‘Days Like This’ by Van Morrison, while the Bride and Father danced to the nostalgic charm of ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ by Stevie Wonder.
The excitement was palpable as the wedding party made their grand entrance, accompanied by the euphoric vibes of ‘Starlight’ by Muse.
The Videography
We were thrilled to discover a talented team of videographers based in NYC, who would go on to capture the essence of our special day. Their initial trailer was nothing short of breathtaking, and more recently, we’ve had the pleasure of watching our extended video come to life. It’s still hard to believe how seamlessly everything fell into place, allowing us to relive those unforgettable moments for years to come.
