How to Set a Table for Easter in Blue and White

When it comes to decorating a table, starting with a clean slate is key. Having a clear idea of the color palette or theme you want to achieve can help guide your design decisions. For me, this blue and white tablescape was inspired by the beautiful toile dishes I discovered at a thrift store – they were too good to pass up! Step 1. Add a Table Runner or Tablecloth

Step 1. Add a Table Runner or Tablecloth

To create an upscale tablescape, I began by selecting a stunning blue and white table runner featuring whimsical bunny illustrations reminiscent of toile patterns. If you’re inclined to craft one for yourself, I’ve shared a DIY tutorial on my website. This beautiful runner served as the perfect foundation for the woven chargers that follow. The addition of layered elements can instantly elevate any table setting, making it a thoughtful touch that’s sure to impress.

Step 2. Layer Chargers

Step 2. Layer Chargers

To add some extra visual interest, I stacked the woven chargers with smaller, metallic ones from Dollar Tree. The contrast between the earthy tone of the placemats and the sleek silver of the chargers created a striking combination that allowed the delicate pattern on the toile dinner plates to shine.

Step 3. How to Make an Easter Vase Centerpiece

To create a visually appealing centerpiece, I opted for a straightforward approach, filling a clear glass vase with stunning blue and white marbled eggs (). This elegant display was further enhanced by placing the vase atop a charming bird’s nest on a thrifted milk glass pedestal. The twine Easter eggs would also complement this arrangement beautifully. Milk glass, in particular, has an undeniable charm that can elevate any style or theme.

Step 4. Layer Napkins

Step 4. Layer Napkins

Incorporating fabric napkins into your table setting can add a touch of elegance and sophistication. Instead of reaching for paper napkins, consider seeking out budget-friendly options at thrift stores or take on a DIY project to create your own unique cloths. For instance, you could repurpose an old drop cloth or find creative ways to upcycle vintage linens. Even simple white linen napkins can be transformed into a beautiful table setting when paired with woven charger placemats.

Step 5. Add Candles

Step 5. Add Candles

The allure of candles lies not only in their soft, warm glow but also in the way they effortlessly elevate any tabletop experience. When arranged thoughtfully across a table runner, multiple candlesticks create a visually appealing arrangement that combines interest with tactile appeal.

Step 6. Bring in Seasonal Touches

Step 6. Bring in Seasonal Touches

Elevate your decor with the simplicity of inexpensive bunnies from Target’s dollar spot. Add a touch of elegance by adorning them with satin navy bows, and instantly create a striking focal point. To achieve this look, I’ve shared a step-by-step tutorial on creating easy DIY bows HERE. The result is a charming addition to your setting that can be easily updated. For an added pop of color and texture, incorporate adorable green moss bunnies, also from Target’s dollar spot.

If you’re eager to learn more about bow-making or explore other creative tutorials, I’ve compiled several DIY bow projects below for your viewing pleasure.

Step 7. Add Accessories

By adding a wood bead garland as a centerpiece, you can create a stunning visual display that complements your table setting. This versatile decoration can be easily customized to match any color scheme or theme by selecting wooden beads in various hues. In my case, I opted for neutral gray wooden beads paired with a rustic jute twine tassel, which added warmth and texture to the overall design.

Step 8. DIY Chair Covers

Step 8. DIY Chair Covers

To complete my blue and white Easter tablescape, I incorporated a simple yet impactful DIY element – a Cricut monogram on the chair backs. This easy project adds a playful touch to the overall design. To create this look, start by designing a monogram in Cricut Design Space and cutting it out of vinyl in a color that complements your theme. Then, apply the decal to the back of any wood or melamine chair.

This DIY project is surprisingly effective at elevating the overall aesthetic, and I’m thrilled with the result. For a closer look, check out the photo below. As an added bonus, I used temporary vinyl so that I can easily remove it if I grow tired of the design in the future. What do you think of this simple yet charming DIY project? Let me know in the comments what theme you’re using for your Easter table setting this year! Don’t forget to PIN this idea for later.
