Cool Cotton Mill Wedding With A Modern Rustic Colour Palette

Cool Cotton Mill Wedding With A Modern Rustic Colour Palette

We’ve been busy bringing you the latest from Bridal Fashion Week, but we haven’t forgotten about what really matters: inspiring our readers for their own special days, and there’s no better way to do that than sharing beautiful, unique real weddings with you. James and Christie’s modern rustic affair is a perfect example of this; with its quirky venue, stunning dress, and personal touches, it’s a celebration that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside.

The happy couple chose the charming Haw River Ballroom in Saxapahaw, North Carolina as the backdrop for their special day. This unique venue, with its industrial-chic atmosphere, was transformed by beautifully captured moments from Brett & Jessica Photography. The couple’s color palette, blending grey, yellow, and orange with burlap and chalkboard accents, fit seamlessly into the venue’s aesthentic. What made this wedding truly special, however, were the personal touches.

With an intimate family affair at its core, the celebrant was a close friend, while Christie’s sister created the program and her father contributed to the music selection; it’s clear that love was in the air on this joyous day.

The highlight of our special day was undoubtedly our first look. We deliberated over it for months, and it turned out to be one of the wisest decisions we made as a couple. Having that opportunity to see each other’s faces and calm our nerves beforehand allowed us to truly appreciate the ceremony. The relaxed atmosphere enabled us to soak in every moment, making the experience even more memorable. Another cherished moment was my father’s heartfelt speech.

From the onset, our florist impressed us with her creativity and attention to detail. I prepared for our initial consultation by gathering inspiration on Pinterest and defining a distinct color palette that captured the essence of summer. This visual aid allowed me to effectively communicate my preferences to the florist.

Together, we designed bouquets featuring a harmonious blend of yellow, off-white, orange, pink, and coral hues, incorporating garden roses, billy balls, succulents, and seasonal favorites. The boutonnieres were equally stunning, with combinations of billy ball, succulents, and dusty miller adding a touch of elegance. Our centerpieces incorporated natural elements like wooden boxes and mercury glass vases, complemented by the soft glow of mercury tea lights and floating candles.

Overall, the flowers exceeded our expectations, perfectly capturing the essence of our special day.

The design process began with a foundation of soothing gray and warm yellow hues, which provided a solid starting point for our rustic-modern aesthetic. As we delved deeper into the planning phase, we found ourselves drawn to incorporating additional ‘summery’ colors to infuse the space with a lively, sun-kissed feel.

The culinary delights didn’t stop at the main course. Our feast featured an impressive spread courtesy of the esteemed ‘Five Star Gas Station’, showcasing the best of local cuisine. To pair with our meal, we had a selection of fine beers and wines available. And for dessert, we indulged in the sweet delight of wedding cake.
