Colourful Connecticut Wedding With An Abundance Of Fabulous Florals

Colourful Connecticut Wedding With An Abundance Of Fabulous Florals

Jess and Jeff’s whimsical country wedding in Litchfield Hills, Connecticut, is a treat that’s hard to resist. The lush green and coral hues of their colour palette evoke a sense of freshness, while the peonies, garden roses, and ranunculus florals add a touch of elegance. But what truly stands out is Jessica’s stunning Lazaro wedding dress and effortless curls – she’s a vision of loveliness.

What’s equally impressive is that Jessica took charge of designing all the beautiful paper goods herself, resulting in a charming blend of floral motifs and patterns that perfectly capture the essence of Spring. The couple’s rustic-chic reception in a barn featured a stunning display of fresh blooms in milk glass vases, farm-to-table cuisine, a lively Motown band to get the party started, and the perfect finishing touch – hand-rolled cigars by the fire pit.

Special thanks to A Guy And A Girl Photography for capturing these unforgettable moments.

Our inspiration for the event’s aesthetic was drawn from the rustic vintage elegance style, which we brought to life with a harmonious blend of soothing seafoam hues, warm coral tones, rich gold accents, and creamy ivory undertones.

To achieve a soft and natural coral and peach garden feel in my wedding flowers, I aimed for a romantic and whimsical aesthetic. For the brides bouquet, I chose to combine coral peonies, peach garden roses, craspedias, and maidenhair ferns, securing them with burlap and ivory lace ribbon, and finishing it off with pearl pins and my grandmother’s 1920s brooch.

The bridesmaids’ bouquets featured the same flowers in a slightly more compact arrangement, wrapped in burlap and tied with a band of lace ribbon. For the centrepieces, I collected mismatched vintage milk glass vases and arranged them on a lace runner, surrounded by coral peonies, peach garden roses, ranunculus, yellow craspedia, peach flowers, yellow fresia, and green hydrangeas, creating a lush and organic look.

When planning our special day, I aimed to infuse my wedding with personalized elements that would make our guests feel like they were experiencing a true reflection of our unique relationship. To achieve this, I put thought into designing bespoke menus, thank you gift bags and tags, escort cards and boards, programs, table numbers, and invitations – even customizing my own stamps (a graphic artist’s guilty pleasure).

Having those distinctive touches was crucial to me, and, of course, the quality of wine and cuisine were also top priorities.
