This week, we’re transported back to Greece once more, where Mersina and Stelios are exchanging their vows on the outskirts of Athens. The lovely couple met by chance in the US, despite hailing from Lesvos and Cyprus respectively. Their love story unfolded with an engagement in breathtaking Santorini, leading them to return to Mersina’s native Aegean region for their bespoke wedding.
A picturesque outdoor reception overlooking the sea at Island Art & Taste followed their elegant Greek Orthodox ceremony, beautifully captured by George Pahountis and styled by White Ribbon Boutique Events. The couple’s focus on meticulous details resulted in a wedding replete with unique touches: cool cocktails, cigars for the gentlemen, pashminas for the ladies, and traditional sugared-almond favors.
Attention was also paid to every table setting, accessory, and floral arrangement – including Stelios’ Saville Row suit and Mersina’s stunning Victoria Kyriakides wedding gown. With so many inspiring ideas on display, get ready to pin your favorites.

The Photography
When selecting our photographer and videographer, we looked for professionals who could capture the essence of each couple’s love story. We chose individuals who possess a unique ability to make couples feel at ease, allowing them to shine through on camera. As skilled storytellers, they are adept at capturing the most intimate and emotional moments, conveying the authenticity of the couple’s relationship with remarkable accuracy.
The Flowers
In crafting the wedding’s floral arrangements, we opted for a predominantly white palette, selecting hydrangea and lycianthus for the bridal bouquet alongside a few garden roses in a soft pink hue. To subtly weave in the pink tone elsewhere, we paired white lycianthus with delicate astilbe blooms for the buttonholes, striking a beautiful balance between subtle and elegant.
Favourite Moments
The pièce de résistance came when the groom stunned the bride with a dazzling fireworks display, immediately following cake-cutting. The surprise was simply sublime; I must confess, I’m smitten with the stylish cocktail flags and chic cigar bar – what a fantastic way to add some whimsy to the celebration. And can you spot those adorable flower girls adding to the joy.
A huge thank you to George Pahountis, White Ribbon Boutique Events, and Mersina & Stelios for generously sharing their breathtaking Greek wedding with us. Let’s be inspired by even more incredible destination weddings.
