We’re thrilled to kick off the week with a stunning real wedding that’s packed with inspiration. Lauren and Keith, an East Coast couple, brought their love of Colorado together with a deeply personal and beautifully crafted DIY wedding that took over two years to plan. The breathtaking photos by Lauren and Tim of Lauren Fair Photography showcase why all that hard work was well worth it.
Against the stunning backdrop of Spruce Mountain Ranch, this lovely couple created a day that blended vintage charm, handmade touches, and delicious food in an intimate setting. From stitching their own napkins and collecting glass bottles and jars to designing custom wedding rings from family heirlooms and having a close friend officiate the ceremony, Lauren and Keith were dedicated to making their special day rustic, thoughtful, and deeply personal.
Their passion for creating something unique even led to the launch of Old Wood Soul, a business that uses the wooden details they handcrafted for their big day. This beautiful rustic ranch wedding is a treasure trove of inspiration for DIY couples, with plenty of creative ideas to get you started on your own special celebration.

Decor & Details
As they awaited the completion of Lauren’s program, the couple had nearly three years to immerse themselves in the planning process. With time on their side, they were able to delve deeply into every aspect of their special day, from choosing the perfect venue and vendors to crafting unique ceremony and reception elements. The result was a wedding that reflected their personal style and shared values.
Every detail, from the distressed timber tables to the reclaimed wood centerpieces, told a story about who they are as a couple. They even got creative with the napkins, making them themselves. The ceremony site remained simple yet elegant, featuring rustic lanterns suspended from an old Cottonwood tree, handmade boxes filled with baby’s breath lining the aisle, and white wooden doors connected to rows of white lace quilts creating a beautiful indoor experience.
Meanwhile, at Albert’s Lodge, the reception area featured three roaring fireplaces that added warmth and ambiance to the space. The venue boasted large garage doors that seamlessly transitioned from indoors to outdoits, where guests could dance under a canopy of market lights. The head table was adorned with pillar candles and vintage family wedding photos, serving as a loving tribute to their heritage.
The Music
The first dance at a wedding is always a memorable moment, and the right song can make it even more special. For this couple, that song was ‘Dancing Shoes’ by Green River Ordinance – a catchy and upbeat tune that had everyone on their feet. When it came time for the father-daughter dance, Jimmy Buffet’s ‘Little Miss Magic’ set the tone for a sweet and sentimental moment between the two.
Meanwhile, the mother-son dance saw Van Morrison’s ‘Days Like This’ bring tears to eyes and smiles to faces, as this family celebrated their love and connection with one another.
